Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.
Cars, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.
The substance had been placed in the form of a swastika, they added.
Officers then located multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests show the liquid was probably blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; officials are not yet aware of any harm in relation with the incident," they stated.
City officials stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the public for tips.
An important representative stated the vandalism left him speechless and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
